NFLP-Y’s 2020 Round-up

National Financial Literacy Program for Youth (NFLP-Y) has achieved some significant milestones in 2020. With more than 350 partners on board, the NFLP-Y team conducted over 8,000 training sessions all across Pakistan this year to train more than 250K students on Financial Literacy (FL) through face-to-face classroom training making the project rollout to reach 450K on the whole. Amidst the challenging times, to ensure everyone’s safety, all SOPs were followed, and protective measures were taken into account for completing all the training.

The year 2020 took a rollicking start but as the events took a turn due to the Covid-19 pandemic, everything came to a halt. During this time when studies of thousands of students got affected due to educational institutes’ closure in Pakistan; National Financial Literacy Program for Youth (NFLP-Y) launched Pakistan’s first online Financial Literacy game, ‘POMPAK – Learn to Earn.’ PomPak, through an interactive and engaging interface, delivers its lessons in English and Urdu language through a story-based game format designed to help understand and apply principles of financial literacy. It keeps the youth engaged while effectively inculcating financial skills such as budgeting, saving, banking, and borrowing.

Within the first year of its launch, PomPak exceeded 123K downloads and scored the top spot in the ‘educational games’ category in the Google Play Store. The E-Learning platform of NFLP-Y has now more than 130,000 enrollments so far. NFLP-Y, through extensive social media campaigns and effective partnerships, disseminated its message to more than 16 million people all across Pakistan in a short period. The activities of NFLP-Y drew a lot of attention on both digital and print media as more than 50 print and digital news agencies published the work of NFLP-Y.

In terms of new partnerships and collaborations, 2020 has proved to be a successful year as NFLP-Y landed some major partnerships. Knowledge Platform (Private) Limited, Pakistan’s leading education technology company became the digital learning partner of the project for PomPak. Likewise, NFLP-Y entered into a partnership with Rozee.pk – Pakistan’s largest online jobs platform. With a great number of registered professionals, Rozee.pk disseminated the message of NFLP-Y to more than 9 million of its users. The project also succeeded to take on board some of the country’s prestigious educational institutes all across the country.
